Types of Coffee

1. Espresso
Originated in Thirties in Italy. The 'ideal' is 20 gram coffee brewed at 92 degree centigrade for 25 seconds. Who knew?

2. Cappuccino
One part of coffee to five parts of milk. Originated from Italy with no chocolate sprinkles. Ideally 1 cm of foam.

3. Flat White
One part espresso to two part of milk. It made its debut in New Zealand and Australia.

4.  Americano
Includes two parts espresso to six parts of water. Named after american world war II soldiers in Europe who found espresso too strong.

5. Latte
One part of espresso to seven parts milk. Possibly from the old tradition of giving children hot milk poured from coffee pot.

6. Piccolo
One part espresso to three parts milk. A more diluted version of flat white, this is usually served in a smaller cup.

7. Cafe Mocha
One part of espresso to four part of milk and one part of chocolate powder. Coffee purists eschew this coffee with a cocoa kick.

8. Iced Coffee
One part of espresso to three parts of milk plus water and ice. To sweeten use syrup as granules won't dissolve.

9. Ristretto
A very short and therefore extremely strong shot of espresso coffee. Purist adore this pour.

Know the name of your coffee, enjoy the day :))
